How does inequality affect our happiness?
We developed a new equation to predict how happy people will be based not only on what happens to them, but also what happens to the people around them. Inequality reduced happiness on average, but how inequality affects happiness varied a lot from person to person. Using our new equation, we found that we can predict which individuals will be more or less altruistic. [UCL press release]
